Being that I'm less than 5 months away from celebrating 8 years as a regional flight attendant, I feel inclined to share a few things I have learned about myself, or rather, ways I have grown since becoming a flight attendant. Plus, 2 honorable mentions representing the 2 years that I have been a licensed clinician.
1. Patience starts with self.
2. Flexibility will allow you to reach heights that rigidness could never
3. Self-care is self-love
4. Showing up for yourself means being gentle and kind towards yourself and living with gratitude
5. There is no such thing as "5 more minutes" when you have a 3:15 van
6.You have to learn to be okay with being alone to truly appreciate the time you get to spend with others
7. Crew schedulers are just as stressed as you are durining IROPs
Honorable Mentions:
1. When life gives you sour lemons, YOU have to make the lemonade sweet
2. Slam clicking is great, but building experiences builds opportunity
These lessons have shaped my journey and continue to guide me as I navigate both the skies and my career as a clinician. Here's to many more years of growth and learning!
